A 500ml bottle in a matte soft-touch colour — eleven to choose from — that is nice to hold and does not slip in the hand. Built like a flask: 304 stainless steel inside and out, double-walled, so a cold drink stays cold and a hot one stays hot; its maker rates that at up to six hours. The cap screws down tight.

The engraving cuts through the coloured coating to the bare steel underneath, so it shows silver against the colour and never wears off. Birthdays, thank-yous, a new job, the school run, or one for yourself. If you’d rather decorate it yourself, the plain bottle is on its own page.
