A plain stainless steel keyring blank, a 2 x 2 cm heart, mirror-polished on both faces, with a split ring. A laser marks the polish with a permanent dark line — the mark sits in the surface rather than being cut out of it — and UV print sits on it well. A fibre or infrared laser marks bare steel directly; a blue diode laser needs a marking spray first. Nothing on it yet — that is the point.
